How is Fika different from other Pigmentation targeting serums?

  • Nonapeptide-1 As a targeted pigmentation serum, FIKA is formulated with Nonapeptide-1, a well-studied peptide that helps inhibit α-MSH–mediated signalling responsible for excess melanin production. By moderating this pathway, it supports a gradual reduction in new pigment formation without bleaching, barrier disruption, or irritation.
  • Artocarpus Lakoocha Extract rich in oxyresveratrol, is a natural tyrosinase inhibitor. It slows the enzymatic conversion of tyrosine to melanin—without disrupting melanocytes.
  • Bidens Pilosa a gentle plant based retinoid-alternative, enhances cell turnover and reduces pigment accumulation—ideal for sensitive skin.
  • Niacinamide inhibits pigment transfer to upper skin layers, reducing blotchiness and preventing buildup of pigmentation
  • Piperonyl Linoleate Piperonyl Linoleate targets TRP-1, supports lipid and skin barrier repair, and calms pigment-triggering inflammation—especially useful for post-acne marks
  • Triphala (Amla, Haritaki, Bibhitaki) calms skin with antioxidants and polyphenols.
  • Licorice Root Extractcontains both glabridin and liquiritin, which break up existing pigment and prevent new formation.
  • Calendula and Neem Extracts reduce inflammatory cytokines like IL-6 and TNF-α—healing while preventing future flare-ups.
  • Cold-pressed oils like Carrot Seed, Flaxseed, Cranberry, and Hemp seed feed your skin with omega fatty acids and antioxidants.
  • Cacao Seed Butter,Wheat Germ Oil, and Panthenol deeply nourish and hydrate.
  • Sodium Polyglutamate, a next-gen humectant, holds more moisture than hyaluronic acid—helping actives absorb better.
  • Sea Buckthorn Extract delivers a potent mix of Vitamin C, carotenoids, and omegas to brighten and heal.
  • Vitamin E, Sandalwood, and Holy Basil provide environmental defense and calm acne-prone skin.

What does it Feel like?

Fika is an all-rounder. Light weight , yet creamy, non greasy pigmentation serum that sinks in immediately. At first touch you will feel a weightless emulsion that feels milky and spreads like a creamy cushiony serum and yet sinks in like water based cream. This creamy texture follows a unique approach by harnessing the power of plant botanicals, that not only regulate melanogenesis (left over pigmentation) at several levels, but also softens the inflammatory response, which leads to a decrease in hyperpigmentation not only on the surface, but also at a much deeper level. It targets pigmentation at the root by inhibiting tyrosinase and TRP-1, two key enzymes involved in melanin production without any irritation.

YOUR ROUTINE GUIDE HERE

  • • Fades hyperpigmentation
    • Fades left over acne spots
    • Brightens and evens out skin tone
    • Reduces texture and the appearance of pores
    • Provides antioxidant defence against environmental stress

  • Fika targets common forms of pigmentation like dark spots, post-acne marks, dullness, and uneven skin tone—especially on Indian skin. It works gently over time to brighten without irritation or dryness.

  • Yes. Fika is formulated with plant botanicals and contains no harsh exfoliants, acids, or retinoids. Some users notice a mild tingling sensation on first use — this is normal and typically settles within the first few applications. If irritation persists, reduce frequency and patch test on a small area first

  • Clinical results — including measurable improvement in pigmentation, brightness, and skin texture — were observed at 4 weeks in our independent clinical study (Fitzpatrick skin types III, IV and V). For deeper pigmentation, continued use over 10-12 weeks typically delivers more significant and lasting improvement.

  • Fika has a unique approach that targets pigmentation by inhibiting melanocyte production & softens the inflammation at the same time. It combines well-aging actives with soothing botanicals like cacao seed butter, calendula extract &sea buckthorn extract, softly jumping into a dual action of reinforcing the skin barrier as well.

    • All skin types
  • Fika targets post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (dark spots, post-acne marks) and UV-triggered uneven tone — the types most common in Indian skin. Melasma has a hormonal component that makes it more complex to treat topically, and Fika has not been clinically tested specifically on melasma.

If you have melasma, Fika can be part of a broader routine but we recommend consulting a dermatologist for a targeted protocol.

  • Yes — they are designed to work together. Terra supports your skin barrier and hydration baseline; Fika targets pigmentation and uneven tone. Apply Terra first on clean skin, allow it to absorb, then layer Fika.

Both can be used morning and evening. Apply sunscreen every morning when using Fika — UV exposure triggers the melanin production pathway that Fika works to interrupt.

  • Fika contains plant botanicals, peptides, and antioxidants — no retinoids, hydroquinone, or salicylic acid. However, we recommend consulting your doctor before adding any new skincare product during pregnancy, as individual sensitivities can vary.

Niacinamide and most of the botanical actives in Fika are generally considered safe, but the decision should be made with your healthcare provider.

  • Niacinamide
is one of 30+ active ingredients in Fika — it inhibits pigment transfer to
the upper skin layers. But Fika works at multiple stages of the melanin
pathway simultaneously: Nonapeptide-1 interrupts the MSH signalling that
    triggers excess melanin production; Artocarpus Lakoocha inhibits tyrosinase;
Niacinamide reduces pigment transfer; and Piperonyl Linoleate targets TRP-1.

    A
standalone niacinamide serum addresses one mechanism. Fika addresses five.

Fika - Pigmentation targeting Serum

I just needed to tell you that the serum that you have created is a magic potion. I cant imagine not having it in my stash. My skin feels fab. I had a minor rash on my face and the serum sorted it out literally overnight. Texture gone, redness gone. It is by far the most impressive product for my skin that I have used in recent years

Fika - Pigmentation targeting Serum

I notice overall evenness and glow to the skin. I appreciate both the serums, as they have a hydrating base and eliminates the need for a separate hydrating layer. As a person who likes to layer less and keep skincare streamlined, it works very well for me”.-

BEHIND THE SCENES.

The idea of a good skin is multifaceted and so is the meaning of Fika. In Hindi, fika translates literally to "insipid," while in Swedish culture, it means to "slow down," pausing to appreciate life's simple joys.

We wanted to create something that embodied both these beautiful emotions in a single bottle. After 3 years of making, we concluded with a healing formulation that would remind you to slow down, appreciate your skin’s journey, the process its going through and let it heal gently yet powerfully.

We believe the right mindset combined with the right skincare is all you need when your skin is at its dullest.

For Fika’s scent we had something very specific in mind —something soft, warm, and comforting, like the reassurance of coming home after a long journey. To us, nothing felt more like home than the creamy, woody notes of timeless sandalwood, gently blended with whispers of rose geranium, evoking memories of lovingly tended gardens, and the subtle presence of holy basil—bringing to mind cherished rituals and family traditions.

Its a scent that softly says, “you’re home.”

This is your healing Journey.

This, is the birth of Fika.

Our founder's thoughts

“I needed to approach the sensitive skin types with a formulation that could deliver results without disrupting skin barrier. It had to be nourishing and effective enough to simplify routines, replacing multiple products.

Fika went through multiple iterations for over three years to deliver exactly this .”
