La Belle Lune, a beautiful brand that handcrafts every batch in their beautiful studio in Norwich, England. The power of Internet is stunning as its is amazing how sitting in India I am able to experience brands from so many beautiful artisans such as this. All thanks to a lovely Instagram Community where I get to explore and review many more brands as well.
Made in the base of Poppy Seed Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Hemp Seed Oil, Cherry Kernel Oil and Mango Seed Butter this is soft balm that emulsifies beautifully in contact with warm water.
I purchased this in December, however since Indian temperatures are a bit warm I recieved this in a semi liquid. Putting back in the fridge made it come back to the normal texture as formulated, But I don’t prefer that & use it as is it is in a semi liquid state itself as this helps me spread and massage my face more effectively and I like that. The texture change did not have any effect on the the efficacy & it remained absolutely on point, emulsifying beautifully with warm water whilst taking off spf and make up.
This rinses completely clean without any stinging in the eyes or hindering my skin barrier and that’s what I like the most about it. Post rinse, skin feels clean, there is no residue or film whatsoever. For me, I like to feel my skin when I touch my face (and not have any superficial layer that gives me a false impression that my skin is nourished and not squeaky clean). Witching hour gives me precisely the feel I like – I can feel my skin – clean, supple and so nourished post wash without being squeaky clean and no residue / film what so ever. Infact it doesn’t make me feel I have cleansed my skin with a cleanser, It is so gentle and yet so effective.
This does contain EOs of Clary sage and palmarosa however the scent is not very strong. I like cleansers with natural scent & this passes that pretty well. Having said that, this is exactly why it may not make you sing a song in your head for it has no decandent scents, but your skin will be very happy & that will make your skin sing a song instead.
I am almost over with more than half my Jar as I write this & I will definitely miss this in my routine once am done with it.
