Henua Organics, a Nordic brand rooted deep in the philosophy of bringing joy and wellbeing is slowly making mark with their statement “Nothing more but more than enough”. When I first heard of this brand, curiosity caught me and I hopped on to their website to read a bit more about the brand founders. I strongly believe in the connect with the founders and their stories before I connect with the products.
Founded by Jenni Tuominem, Henua is a Finnish word rooted deep in Northern folklore, expressing a feeling of well being, joy and happiness. Jenni holds a 15 years of experience in cosmetology and is also a Formula Botanica graduate which makes her my senior as well ( hurray!). Together with her sister Anu, the business brains Henua was born to give the world a taste of Scandinavian Luxury. A no filler, true waterless beauty.
Overall, I must say its a well thought of, and carefully curated line. The thought process clearly shows right from packaging, to the ingredients and texture of the products. The sense of calm sets in right in the minute you hold the packaging in your hands. I absolutely love how the outer packaging is designed!
“If I had to sum it up, I would say its an equivalent of ‘Ludwig Mies van der Rohe’ in skincare. A minimalist perfection, inside out ~ Achla”
Henua Beautifying Toner
Beauty Shortlist awards 2020 finalist, this definitely made up to my favourites list. Minimalist, waterless beauty and absolutely efficacious. Wrapped in a beautiful packaging this comes in a mist form. The ingredients boast of Birch Sap, which is super concentrated with vitamin B3 that evens out skin tone, vitamin B5 which can help promote skin healing, vitamin B12 which can help in preventing hyper-pigmentation. It is also packed with vitamin C – the superstar skincare ingredient that helps slow the visible signs of the ageing process and fights to keep wrinkles and fine lines away. Vitamin A within the birch sap helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and increases blood flow to the skin giving you a glowing and healthy complexion.
My experience with this Toner has been a delight. Right from day one of usage I find it gives me a nice subtle glow immediately. My skin has evened out one a period of time with its usage. There is a happy and healthy glow and over all my skin looks well nourished. The scent is subtle and yet exquisite, brings me a certain sense of happiness every time I breathe in.The packaging is handy and easy to carry. It comes in a spray form, the spray pump is a bit aggressive and I wish it could be a little more subtle and easy on face. However, you can spray it on a cotton pad or palm of your hand and pat it onto your skin. I prefer spraying it directly or into the palm of my hand, hate the wastage of such a beautiful product on cotton. Over all, its something I would love to have all year round in my skincare stash.
HENUA MIRACLE VITAMIN OIL
A self proclaimed facial oil lover, I am someone who oscillates between sensorial scents and organic scents. I find both equally de-stressing depending upon how my day has been. Henua Miracle Vitamin Oil has a natural nutty organic scent which is therapeutic and easy for everyday use.Speaking of texture, Miracle Vitamin Oil has a golden hue, formulated with 11 different oils and for me, falls into a light to medium weight oil depending upon your skin type. Few drops work well on top of my cream unless I am looking for a good facial massage with a gua sha. The other way I use this is, as a light massage with few drops of oil on damp skin immediately post cleansing ( spray the Beautyfying toner and take half a pump and massage into the face works well for me). It leaves the skin velvety smooth and no greasiness. Oat and lingonberry oils are known to calm inflammation, help reduce wrinkles and lingonberry been a powerhouse of antioxidants, it brings a lot on the plate. The oil has a shelf life is 03 months, in a 15ml bottle that is sufficient enough for the stated shelf life.
HENUA RECHARGING MOISTURISER
Henua recharging moisturiser is a smooth lotion consistency, nourishing moisturiser. The Texture is light and yet nourishing enough. Formulated in birch sap water, this has no fillers. The ingredients speak of shea butter, pine bark and sweet essential oil. Even though I am a combo skin type, the current weather makes my skin compatible to shea butter and it didn’t feel heavy at all.
What I like is, how its not a jar packaging and is instead in a pump form. Travel friendly and also best for your one and done routine with the toner and oil. For me this works well as a summer moisturiser on its own, and during winters I would layer this with a balm at night.
I do hope they come up with a facial balm soon!
