Hello again! The climate in Bangalore is mostly pleasant and cool, and I am blessed to be based here. Luckily this weather allows me to skip or add facial oils / facial balms easily. I consider myself lucky as rest of the India goes through a severe heat wave for most of the months. I wouldn’t claim to be a top notch expert with oil serums, but having tried 30 plus oils in the last one and a half year I can safely say I know what my oils do and how my skin likes it.
With Black Locust Firming Concentrate I took my time to firm up my thoughts after a good two and a half months of usage. Before we get into the details lest chat a bit on the brand first.
A bit about the Brand
Earthwise beauty is the most luxurious yet grounded brands that I have ever experienced. Each and every product tells a story that builds a connection to the product. Not only it helps connect with the thought of product created, but also works amazingly well for desired results. Its a deeper connection than just skincare with all of Ava’s creation. If you are someone who connects with plant botanicals on a deeper realm and haven’t tried Earthwise beauty, you really are missing out.
Lets talk about Black locust firming concentrate in todays post. Its a thick oil serum that delivers a wide spectrum of vitamins, essential fatty acids, and other phytonutrients for firmer, more elastic, and thicker skin. The serum is specifically targeted for skin with signs of aging. The claims being addressed to as firming, rejuvenating and wrinkle-reducing. Created for mature skin, it boasts of wonderful ingredients list.
key Ingredients and scent profile of earthwise beauty black locust firming concentrate
The ingredients spectrum has the best of organic world with Bakuchiol – a potent plant based alternative to Retinol. Backed by studies it has shown to have similar results to retinol. Lupine seed extract is scientifically proven to improve wrinkles, skin firmness, skin elasticity, and sagging facial contour.Calendula Extract is known for soothing and calming skin inflammations, Açai berry oil derived from whole açai berries, has superior acne-reducing and skin-soothing benefits coupled with Kalahari melon seed oil a must have for dehydrated acne prone skin conditions.
What I understand is there is addition of exotic feminine florals with Indian golden champaca flower (perfumers’ gold), Nepalese rhododendron, and the unusual herbal scent of bakuchiol. However what is most prominent to my nose is a very herbal earthy scent which is soothing and not very loud or harsh. The scent is harmonious with the ingredients used.
Why is this my Holy grail among all the 30+ oil serums I have tried.
What I love about Black locust firming concentrate is the consistency of the serum. Though its oil based, this glides more like a rich , nourishing thick serum that my skin absolutely loves and drinks up immediately.I call it my topical skin food.
It leaves no tackiness or oil residue on my face at all. While when you open the bottle and look at the consistency it looks heavy for starters, but when applied on to the face it sinks in very well. As recommended on the packaging, this can also be used as a booster along with your moisturiser, if it feels heavy for your weather. However, I personally love layering this on its own under an emulsion for my night routine. I also mix it with my On a swing among tree serum mist and it layers very well. The next day morning needless to say – it delivers on point with skin looking plump and a healthy glow from within.
What I noticed with consistent use?
My skin looked more even toned and an overall brightness evident from week two. I haven’t seen any oil deliver result as fast as this, point to remember I am an avid oil serum user. I do not have any deeper wrinkles or sagging skin visible to naked eye and hence cannot comment on the efficacy of that. However, this definitely brings a certain definition to my facial skin – plump, resilient, nourished, and healthy; just like a well rested and well fed skin.
I wouldn’t shy away from admitting that am also inclined using this more often than any other oils in my stash owing to the earthy and grounded scent this has. After a long day when I want to connect with myself, this brings an immense sense of calm within me. I experienced no sensitivity or irritation with a daily usage. It’s a great nightly accompaniment. Needless to say, it has quickly climbed to the top oil serum by far for me – An oil serum that glides smoothly, absorbs amazingly well and also delivers visible results.
Experience in a nutshell
So, I can safely say it brings a lot more on the table than you would expect. An oil serum that isn’t tacky, leaves no grease, absorbs quickly and is result driven. I am on my second bottle and I don’t think I will ever be want to without it. P.S. if one is a seasoned high strength Tret or Retinol then they may find this mild on its own, however the formula is so well rounded that even this can be easily combined with the retinol products to boost the efficacy.
